A Few Words about the CAP
The Common Agricultural Policy consists of a set of rules and mechanisms that regulate the production, processing and trade of agricultural products in the European Union. It came into force in 1962 and is still considered one of the most important areas of EU policy, as its share of the EU budget is around 40%.
