Greece's largest national Educational Robotics, Research and Innovation competition for children took place in Xanthi once again. Dozens of young students took part in this year's competition, held on Sunday at the Amoirideio stadium in Xanthi, under the title “Into Orbit”.
FIRST LEGO League, which for the 2018–2019 school year is once again held under the auspices of His Excellency the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, this year invited young students and their teams into space, where they had to explore, learn and find solutions in the universe, like scientists and engineers. As part of the Project, the teams had to build, test and program an autonomous robot to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game.
The exclusive organizer for Greece is the Non-Profit Association eduACT, which aims to promote innovative educational practices and technology.
The FLL competition is co-organized by Xanthi TechLab of the Municipality of Xanthi Cultural Center with Democritus University of Thrace.
Among the event's sponsors, as part of its mission to develop the people of Xanthi and the wider region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, was ena Development Consultants.
The top teams received awards and qualified for the Grand Final in Thessaloniki, to be held on March 16–17. Our own Alexandros Tsolakidis took part in the children's awards ceremony on behalf of enateam.
Congratulations to all the children and to the event's organizers!
