Public Health Week 2022
The General Directorate of Public Health and Social Care of the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace and the Directorate of Public Health and Social Care of the Regional Unit of Xanthi are organizing a series of activities for Public Health Week (June 6–12, 2022 & June 14, 2022). This year's program includes many activities built around 4 themes: “Pandemic Impact”, “People with Disabilities”, “Prevention – Volunteering” & “Blood Donation”, and they will be carried out with the participation and cooperation of the Xanthi Directorate of Primary Education, the Regional Union of the Blind of Thrace, the Xanthi Chess Club, the Xanthi Police Directorate, the Xanthi Blood Donors' Association “I Agapi” and the General Hospital of Xanthi.

Monday, June 6 – Information Day on “Pandemic and domestic violence” (Theme – “PANDEMIC IMPACT”)
The information day will take place at 19:00 at the Art & Thought Venue “Manos Hatzidakis House” in Xanthi.

Tuesday, June 7 – Activity with Xanthi Elementary Schools – “Pandemic & a Healthy Breakfast” (Theme – “PANDEMIC IMPACT”)
The event will take place from 09.00 to 11.00 in Xanthi's Central Square, in cooperation with the Xanthi Directorate of Primary Education.
Wednesday, June 8 – Guide Dog Demonstration (Theme – “PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES”)
The event will take place from 10.00 to 12.00 in Xanthi's Central Square, in cooperation with the Regional Union of the Blind of Thrace.
Thursday, June 9 – Parallel Activities: “In Someone Else's Shoes – Playing GoalBall” & “Chess is for everyone” (Theme – “PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES”)
The parallel activities will take place from 10.00 to 12.00 at the Amoirideio Sports Center.
“In Someone Else's Shoes – Playing GoalBall” is an activity with Xanthi's Elementary Schools, carried out in cooperation with the Xanthi Directorate of Primary Education and the Regional Union of the Blind of Thrace.
“Chess is for everyone” is carried out in cooperation with the Xanthi Chess Club, the Xanthi Directorate of Primary Education and the Regional Union of the Blind of Thrace.
Friday, June 10 – Information Event: “Do I love myself enough? Stress and body mass index (BMI)” & “Awards event for volunteer organizations of the Prefecture of Xanthi” (Theme – “PREVENTION – VOLUNTEERING”)
The information event “Do I love myself enough? Stress and body mass index (BMI)” will take place from 10.00 to 13.00 in the Meeting Room of the Xanthi Government House.
The “Awards event for volunteer organizations of the Prefecture of Xanthi” will take place from 19.00 to 21.00 at the Art & Thought Venue “Manos Hatzidakis House”. The event will also be available online at: https://meet.google.com/bfc-hjxh-edx
Tuesday, June 14 – “Voluntary Blood Donation” (Theme – “BLOOD DONATION”)
The event will take place from 09.00 to 17.00 in the Foyer of the Xanthi Municipal Amphitheater, in cooperation with the Xanthi Blood Donors' Association “I Agapi”, P.O.SY.FY and the General Hospital of Xanthi.
