The event “SME Digital Tools – Precision agriculture”, organized by ena Development Consultants through its new #enaevents service in collaboration with farmB, was completed successfully.

The event took place on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at enateam's multi-purpose space, #enahub, in Xanthi.

Mr. Dimitris Bardakidis, General Manager of ena Development Consultants, welcomed attendees and spoke about the new opportunities emerging in the agricultural sector through digital transformation and precision agriculture. He also stressed that the new CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) will focus on three pillars:

  • Supporting viable farm incomes to underpin food security,
  • Strengthening research, technology and digital transformation in the agricultural sector and
  • Protecting the environment and mitigating climate change.

Next to speak was Ms. Liana Kavoura, Secondary Sector Development Consultant at enateam, who, as lead for the “SME Digital Tools” program, presented its key aspects and the opportunities its grants create for businesses. More specifically, Ms. Liana Kavoura told attendees about the 90% grant and the requirements and criteria a business must meet to be considered eligible and join the business digital transformation program of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0.

Mr. Ilias Platis of the Institute of Bio-Economy and Agri-Technology of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (iBO/CERTH), representing farmB (a CERTH spin-off), presented farmB's all-in-one digital crop management platform and the sample packages offered under the program. The digital platform gives agronomists and producers the right information with the aim of:

  • securing production,
  • targeted inputs and
  • maximum crop yields.

At the end of the event, attendees had the opportunity to talk in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying the buffet prepared for the event.

The #enaevents team would like to thank everyone who helped organize the event, the attendees who honored it with their presence, and finally our distinguished speaker, Mr. Ilias Platis, for his excellent presentation.
